This is one of my favorite RH series! I love the concept and oh, how I love Willa!

Spoilers below!!!

But this one wasn’t my fave. It felt rushed. I’m not sure which author wrote what part because their writing does goes so well with each other. But some things are confusing for me.

I don’t get why no one is saying anything about some of the story line being different.
In a previous book, Staviti was a minors sick son that drank the water and now he’s a prince that was born into it? Maybe it’s apart of the plot. But I don’t think so.

And with the contest, the Sols know that the Abcurses are God’s now? Because they were hiding it. Or did I miss when they found out? I don’t think so. It would have been nice with a scene that the Sols and some teachers finding out who the Abcurses really are.

And the Abcurses personalities are starting to blend together for me. I miss Siret mischievous grin, Rome’s brouting. He was the serious one and now Coen is? I do hope in Pain we see them use their powers too. They or Willa has been in trouble and the rarely use them. It would be sweet to see all of them use their powers together in a fight!

I didn’t want to rant about this book this way. I just feel like a lot of back story has been forgotten. With Pain being the last book. (I’m hoping not. Wink wink) I feel like every unanswered question won’t be covered the right way. But prove me wrong, PLEASE!!! We need a good finish and closure to a great series!

Don’t get me wrong it was still great! HILARIOUS! I love the different worlds and I love Willa. But the consistency is starting to lack for me.

Strength Curse of the Gods Book 4 edition by Jane Washington Jaymin Eve Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews

Four books later and I still don’t completely understand why I love this reverse harem series so much, but I do. So here we are. This series is such trash, but I just can’t seem to help myself. And I’m happy to report that my fourth foray into the Curse of the Gods was just as fun as the previous books!

↬ THE GOOD
Wow, we’re really not messing around anymore with this reverse harem thing. And to think the first book only had one kiss in it. Now our girl Willa is regularly doing it on the floor of caves. If you go into this series thinking it’s YA, I can’t stress enough how not YA it is in the later books. I’m not hating it though, and it’s just so hard to care when those guys are around. All I’m going to say is, the Abcurses definitely aren’t treating Willa like a girl-brother anymore and she’s very good at keeping things “even”… *Conspicuously winks*

Plus, the real reason I stick with this series is the great sense of humor and Strength definitely delivers in that department. Willa’s continuous banter never fails to amuse me and there was one specific part that had me CRYING I was laughing so hard. This might be the funniest installment yet. And the ending was really great! I was not expecting those little twists in the last few chapters and I can’t wait to see how everything plays out in the last book.

↬ THE UGLY
The down side to having our favorite reverse harem finally get it on is that it slowed the plot waaaaay down. When I got to the end of the book, it felt like not a lot had happened since the beginning. Every time the story would move forward, we’d have to take a sexy times break. Normally I wouldn’t mind this, but I almost wish the book had been a little longer to compensate?? The whole novel had stop-and-go feel to it that was a tad distracting for me.

↬ FINAL WORD
As always, this was a super fun read. We get more humor, more Willa, and more of our favorite Abcurses. What’s not to love? Can’t wait for the final installment to be released in the fall!
I found myself not being able to immerse myself into the characters and worlds like the previous books. It was hard to picture some of the scenes or to get a grip on some of the personalities. I also felt like the ending was hurried just to leave us w lots of unfinished business. Willa isn't quite as funny as she used to be- instead of the quirky thoughts she used to have now her thoughts are always on the abcurse brothers. I'm happy there is finally sex but the whole always-thinking-about-her gods-thing wore thin for me. I understand she isn't going to be as clumsy now but it was one of the quirky things I loved about her.
It's still a compelling story; I'm eager to have a lot of questions answered. It seems like there are more things happening to ponder over but not a lot of answers. We shall see.
This series is so darn funny. I could go on about the Abcurse brothers being their normal selves but with *ahem* more "swimming". However, its the funny scenes I cannot get out of my head. Even better we start getting hints to the answers of what is Willa (or at least, who are Willa's parents). Also starting to get hints of how the worlds interact as Staviti is on the warpath and something is rotten in the state of Minatsol. For those who loved some of the supporting characters like Emmy and Cryrus, let me say you will be very pleased by this book.

But really my mind is stuck on one scene where Willa redefines what is meant by a fairly common insult *giggles hysterically*
